Another largely sunny week with no rain. Having to bring up 8-10 buckets of water each day. Mowing mst mornings and then running out of time to do other stuff.

Monday cloudy and chill in morning, sunnier in afternoon, mowed in the morning and then peening all blades. Sowed in the afternoon. Made seedbed in plot 2 and sowed leeks to replace the ones that haven't germinated in tunnel, and some sprunions. Need to sow more sprunions every monday!

Tuesday weather much the same. Planted the last 6 Vales Savor spuds in plot 3 row 7 (a shorter row running to the rhubarb) - these hadn't really chitted much, be interesting to see how they do. The first nicolas that were hit by a frost are showing again as are the next row.

Picked up a bag of compost from Homeleigh and sowed 3 pots of Lavi Gal and 2 pots of Orange Sherbert (2-3 per pot). 5 pots of Yellow Scallop squash, 2 pots or Di Nizza courgette and 2 pots of sweet dumpling squash (2 per). 12 pots of Sweetcorn Conqueror.

Wednesday was a hazy sunshine day, started some mowing in the apple orchard - there's a lot to do and I started late. In the afternoon I got in another row of onions in plot 4 (10 red and 10 white) and planted out another row of 12 cauliflower in plot 1.

Thursday - oak tree leaves definitely showing, plus flowers - might be a good acorn year. Hazy sunshine. Transplanted 5 Webbs lettuce into centre tunnel bed.

Friday - mostly mowing, orchard half done. Picked spinach tops which are running to flower.

Saturday - warm but more hazy sunshine. Mowing in the morning and planting pm - another row of 12 Savoy cabbage, plus replacing a couple of earlier ones that hadn't thrived. Fitted door to the fruit cage. Picked lettuce leaves. Courgettes sowed on Tuesday showing already.

Sunday - sowed a row of White Gem parsnips in plot 4, interspersed with beetroot as a catch crop. Did a line alternating parsnip/bettroot every six inches, covered with general purpose compost. Also re-sowed the original Tender&True parsnips as seemingly zero germination - possibly too deep originally?
